Online Store Setup
Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how to add products, create categories, and manage your store layout within the app.
1. Access Your Store
- Open the Pegs app and navigate to the 'Your store' tab from the navigation menu at the bottom of your screen.
- From here, you’ll see options to add products, manage categories, and view orders (pending, complete, or canceled).
- You can also Browse other local online stores.
2. Configure Store Categories
- Tap on 'First add product categories' (or Categories just below) then tap + Add in the upper right corner to continue.
- Create your category by giving it a title, for example, you can create categories such as Clothing or Accessories, or Skincare. Press the blue Save button when you've finished configuring each category.
3. Add Your Products
- Once you've added your categories, you're ready to set up the items you wish to offer for sale.
Tap on 'Next add products to your store' (or Products just below) to continue. - For each product:
- Add a Product Title: Give the product a listing name so customers know what it is.
- Describe the Product: Write a brief description of the product.
- Upload Images: Include an image to help showcase your product.
- Enter the Base Price: This is the full price of the product before any discounts are applied. The discount will be applied and shown to customers automatically as per what you've set for your business. Note there is no need to calculate the discounted amount, simply enter the base price of the product, pre-discount.
- Availability: Toggle this off if the product is out of stock or unavailable for any reason.
- Category: Select the category this product falls under from the dropdown of categories you configured before.
- Options (optional) : This is where you have the ability to specify any variants for the item, specifically if the item comes in different sizes/colors/materials/etc that are priced differently (e.g. skincare range in 50ml, 75ml, and 100ml options).
- Within the options, a title must be given. This will be shown to the customers when they view this product in your store. From the example above, the title could be 'Sizes.'
- Required to select: Toggle this on if selection of one of these options is required for fulfilling the purchase. In most cases, it will be (if variants are configured).
- Variants: This is where you list out the variants of the option type. Continuing from the example above, the title for Variant 1 would be '50ml', Variant 2 would be '75ml' and so on.
- Price: Each variant option that is configured must also have a price. Note the price here is the mark up from the base price you configured previously meaning, this amount will be added to the base product price. The discount will then be applied off of this.
Example 1: A skincare product base price is $75.00 however there are 2 sizes: 50ml and 75ml. I want to charge $75.00 for the 50ml and $93 for the 75ml. So in the variant pricing, the 50ml price would be $0.00 (as this is the smallest and therefore the base option) and the 75ml would be configured to $18 (as variant price is the markup from the base product price).
Example 2: A cake shop may need variants for cake sizes as well as cake flavours. To configure this, set up the cake as the main product. Configure an option titled 'Size' with variants specifying the cake size options (6", 9", 12" etc.). Save then configure another option titled 'Flavours.' Follow the same process as above. Now, when a customer goes to order a cake, they will be able to select the size and the flavour they want with the appropriate pricing applied. - Save the option you just configured. To create another option for the same product, as demonstrated in the example above, tap 'Add option +' from the product screen.
- Save the product (and its options)
Tap the blue Save button to finalise this product. On this screen you will see your items and their base prices. Note the customer will however see the base price with a strikethrough and the discounted price instead. - You can repeat this process for as many products as you need, adding variants or keeping the product as a single option.
4. Review Your Store and Products
- Your products will now be organized according to your business needs, and customers will be able to browse through your store categories and products.
Key Tips:
- Add Variations: Use the variant option for products like materials, item sizes (paintings, bouquets, etc.), where you might need different pricing for one product.
- Product Photos: Be sure to upload high-quality images to help customers make purchasing decisions.
With these steps, your store will be ready for customers to browse and make purchases. If you have any further questions, contact support for assistance.
